Find out about Astro’s origins and learn how to draw your favorite bot from the playful hands of team Asobi artists. ASTRO BOT is developed by Team ASOBI, part of PlayStation Studios. Previous games include The Playroom, ASTRO BOT Rescue Mission and ASTRO’s Playroom.

What Are All Special Bots In Astro Bot? Quill – Intrepid Rodent

Once the PS5 ship has crashed, Astro Bot will explore the space around the crash site. This is the hub world that allows you to unlock more of the galaxy map. You’ll track down a satellite-centric bot and it will ping the next destination. These are structured in a certain order, so you’ll need to beat each level to unlock the boss battle, something that requires a set number of bots to have been unlocked. Thankfully, should you return to a previously completed level, you can pay a small amount of PlayStation coin currency to have an assist bot show you where the remaining bots and puzzle pieces are.

The door to the ruin will now open, and you’ll see the disco ball floating above. In Bathhouse Battle, you’ll find the secret exit about midway through the level. Approach the mechanical frog and blow in your controller’s microphone (or simply mute the mic and the game will do it for you). Shrink down and ride the bubbles up the tree (make sure to rescue the caged bot on the way). The secret exit in Go-Go Archipelago doesn’t appear until after you defeat the boss at the end of the level. Use the ladybug to reach where the seal used to be and use your charged melee to dig into the pillar.

Once they’re gone, the purple lake in the middle of the platform will drain automatically, and some grass will grow on the edges. Dig down using your charged melee in the center where the glowing spot appears, and you’ll find a bot waiting for you at the bottom. Once you enter the inside of the hourglass, break the metal block that’s moving to create a static platform and reveal a generic bot.

Astro Bot pulls out all the stops when it comes to referencing older titles in the game. Not only are the character designs perfect for distinguishing the bots, but these are also apparent in some gameplay segments. One example is the game’s callback to Ape Escape where you’ll be chasing the apes around the map the way you would in the original game.

Playing as the titular Astro Bot, it’s a title that finds you encountering a rude alien as you fly through space in your PS5 console-shaped craft. Soon your slick method of transport has been robbed of its important innards, causing it to crash land on a desolate planet. Now you’ve got the arduous job of visiting the star systems nearby, rescuing your robotic friends that got flung far and wide in the whole affair, and ultimately rebuild your ship. Nicolas Doucet was asked by MinnMax what he wants to say to PC players who are eager to play the modern PlayStation mascot’s games on their platform. However, similar to Playroom, the team has built a huge range of power-ups and gadgets and then built entire level concepts around them seamlessly. Each of these are fun in their own right but the sheer variety and ease of use impressed me the most.

A true audiovisual tour-de-force, Astro Bot makes full use of the PS5’s DualSense controller, utilizing it in ingenious, but also somehow obvious, ways to maximize enjoyment. And “enjoyment” is certainly an apt descriptor, as few modern games are capable of evoking the sense of childlike joy that Astro Bot excels at, regardless of player age. Strong and varied platforming mechanics are other building blocks of Astro’s gameplay, allowing for exhilarating and unexpected interactive opportunities. All of this is to say that Astro Bot’s four Game Awards victories, including the coveted Game of the Year Award, are more than deserved.

Progress the level normally until you reach the ladybug trampoline burrowed in the snow. If you jump on it, you’ll notice a rather large seal made out of ice perched on a nearby tower. Ignore this for now and continue a bit further up the path, where you’ll find a charging pig. Dodge the pig and then grab its tail to spin it around and around.

Collectibles

Winter Wonder is a DLC level that unlocks after clearing the main game. 789win ‘s a special, festive-themed level full of Special Bots and other goodies to find. In this Astro Bot guide, we have a full walkthrough of the game, pointing out where to find all the collectibles in every level. This includes the locations of all Bots, all Puzzle Pieces, and all Lost Galaxy Warp Portals.

This mechanical focus allowed Team Asobi to perfect each move and then apply them all in a thousand different ways, and the result is a rewarding and robust platformer. Got the plat shortly after release (couldnt stop playing it) and flipped it to a friend. I will be asking for a loan in a few months when a couple more of the speed run levels drop. @2huwman Just let people be lolPushSquare has the guide out on Day 1 because they compete with other organizations who do the same thing and their guides will be out on Day 1 so it’s kinda like a little competition. If people want to “ruin their experience” as you say, then let them. @2huwman Some people are just like that, they can still enjoy the game but some might be completionists who want to get everything in the quickest time they can due to having many other games to play as well.

You will encounter your first Rescued Bot on Sky Garden, near the very start of the level. To collect the Mothership’s GPU in Astro Bot, you need to complete all main world levels in the Serpent Starway. After beating Chief Cawah in the Dude Raiding, you will recover the Mothership’s GPU. To collect the Mothership’s SSD in Astro Bot, you need to complete all main world levels in the Tentacle System. After beating Nidhog in the Bot of War world, you will recover the Mothership’s SSD.

What Are All Special Bots In Astro Bot? Grazer – Grass Guzzler

The greatest tribute I can pay to Astro Bot is that you forget about all of the PlayStation stuff going on while you’re playing it. Sure, it’s cool to see some forgotten classics in there (Wild Arms made the cut!), but you could take out the Kratos costumes and the game would be as brilliant as it is now. Though the nostalgia or PlayStation love in will eke up the excitement for some fans (and even put some off), it’s not a pillar of Astro Bot, nor is it going to be the reason fans keep replaying this for years to come. Unlike all of the other Astro Bot DLC stages, Winter Wonder is accessed via the Galaxy Select screen.
